Valentines Wedding | Cooling Castle Barn, Kent | Sharah & Sam

Sharah & Sam got married on valentines day, the most romantic day of the year at an equally romantic venue, Cooling Castle Barn, Kent.

I met Sharah and Sam 2 years ago when they booked me (top tip book in advance to guarantee your date) they booked a joint package with myself and Andy Bird Videography and instantly I knew they were my kinda couple, we met up a year later for an engagement shoot amongst the bluebells one of my favourite engagement shoots. Sharah & Sam were an amazing couple, utterly gorgeous inside and out and were very happy to go with my creative way of thinking. Sharah’s wedding dress reflected her so well and Sam’s suit equally matched his personality. Sharah wore a pair of Jimmy Choos, which had she of been a size 4 I would of accidentally taken home with me haha! Everything from this wedding had been thought of, styling right through to entertainment!

I am in love with this wedding - can you believe it was in February it was so warm! With perfect light makes me very happy :0) I hope you enjoy the image. If you would like someone like me to capture your day then please get in touch!

Best of 2016, Kent Wedding Photographer

So 2016 was a big year for me! My busiest year to date although 2017 looks to be even bigger. But last year I feel I really found my style. I was nominated for two awards both for wedding photographer of the year 2017 which is huge and made me feel so proud that my work was getting noticed. I was regional finalist for South East and London via TWIA (The Wedding Industry Awards) where 30 other photographers were finalists so competition was tough - that said I am over the moon to be a finalist. I am still waiting for the results from www.bridebook.com (1st Feb 2017) so make sure you vote! I also got to go to New York a first for me! Fell in love with the city and cannot wait to go back.

The images I have selected, which was incredibly hard for me - I have shot 30 weddings in 2016 and have 40 for 2017 have sat and looked at thousands of moments, ones that gave me butterflies, goosebumps and actually brought a tear to my eye, I do believe I have showcased my creativity, attention to detail and the love and emotion captured from a the day. It's a huge blog post because I have fallen in love with each of the images. My couples have meant so much to me and adore seeing how smitten they are with each other.  Each of the weddings and engagement shoots were as unique as themselves and I wanted to showcase that 'emotion' in its rawest form, truth, connection and crazy stupid love bringing it back to the couple and the reasons for getting married. I am eternally grateful to all my couples and the trust they put into me to document their day in an honest, heartfelt way. Captured feelings with integrity.

Kate & Dan, Islington Town Hall, London

The stunning Kate & Dan got married at the Islington Town Hall in August and what an elegant wedding it was. The whole day was very stylish and contemporary, starting off with bridal prep at the Hilton in Islington where Kate and her bridal party spent their time getting prepped. We had such a giggle, her head bridesmaid had a bag full of emergency goodies which came in handy on the day - we teased saying it was like she was a dealer in toiletries and medication, thats said the bag was very useful! We spent the morning listening to some old school cheer tunes reminding us of our youth! Kate's dress was epic as was her bouquet of orchids. I have never seen anything quite like it and was blown away by her sparkly self! Recetion was held at the stunning Almeida restaurant walking distance from the wedding ceremony, so in good fashion the whole wedding party walked down islington high street, with lots of on lookers gazing at Kate and Dan.

We went off for a little walk and found a beautiful little green spot in the middle of Islington. We got some stunning shots of Kate veil blowing in the wind.

The speeches were hilarious with typical brother rivalry. Dans best man his brother told some very funny stories and ended on a song of "Oh Danny Boy" I loved this wedding and the attention to detail was second to none.

Colin & Jess, Haynes Barn, Kent

I had the wonderful opportunity to capture Colin & Jess wedding in July. A last minute booking, they found me through a recommendation. We had two engagement shoots one during the day and one during golden light. So on the wedding day we was both very comfortable around each other and have become good friends. The wedding was stunning and Jess didn't disappoint her gown was full of sparkles and right up my magpie street! Colin who is a dap hand with carpentry made a stunning J&C sign which lit up. The wedding was beautiful full of tears and love!

I had the wonderful Jon Snapaway capture groom prep and worked alongside me throughout the day. Which gives a lovely grooms perspective of the day.

Jess even managed to stack it on the dance floor :0)

Sally & Julian Sneak Peek, Whitstable & Herne Bay Kent

Sally and Julian had what I call the most intimate weddings I have ever documented. We started off at The Marine Hotel, whitstable for bridal prep, Sally had her best friend do her hair, make up and even did her gorgeous bouquet. Even thought here was only two people getting ready at the hotel it did not stop the laughter and giggles. Sally was so excited and you could really see it, her eyes lit up and sparkled whenever she spoke about her wedding day. She had two pairs of shoes for the day, my kinda girl! Sparkly gold shoes right up my street! But to sill the deal she had these amazing irregular choice bride and groom shoes - epic!

Her lovely father was equally over the moon, he absolutely adored his daughter and treated her to an awesome wedding transport in the shape of a yellow VW camper van sporting black and white chequered flooring! We managed to get a few sneaky shots by Tankerton slopes before heading off to the tiniest church I have ever photographed a wedding at - it could only fit 50 guests if you are friendly (vicars words)plus their dog. So I spent most of the wedding shooting from the back with limited moving around but it actually worked out ok for me and managed to get some lovely shots of the gorgeous couple during the ceremony. We had a confetti shot which I love doing but this one was extra special as the vicar told the guest it was ok, they instantly thought they could throw straight away and launched the dry petals at Julian and Sally inside the church made everyone giggle and since handing over there USB & Box Sally and Julian both commented on who was the culprit that started the mass confetti launching was! We had lots of laughs and it was wonderful to hear them reminisce about their day after receiving their images. Reception was held at Sally & Julian's house with paella being cooked as we walked in!

The day was lovely, full of intimate moments especially when we went off for some private shots down at hampton pier. Stunning couple full of colour and love. These two made me feel so warm and fuzzy I had such a buzz and feel very privileged to have been asked to capture their day.

Mary- Jayne & Thomas Get married! St Swithuns Church, Yateley - Hampshire

I keep reminiscing about this wedding an awful lot, especially when I was going through the pictures to choose the ones for a sneak peek. So many beautiful endearing moments and it was a real honour to be a part of it! The simplest of gestures, like when Mary-Jayne wanted to come downstairs to see her bouquet but her Dad was in the kitchen nearby making a drink, so he shut his eyes and continued to make his drink refusing to open them so he didn't risk seeing his daughter. Mary-Jayne wasn't even in her gown yet but he wanted that moment to be unspoilt and my goodness it worth the wait. Mary-Jayne looked stunning like an english rose full of grace and beauty and you could see that in her Dad's eyes when he walked in the room to see her.

Then there was this amazing band who played as Mary-Jayne walked down the aisle to greet her groom Thomas, who had been so nervous waiting I could see it in his eyes and his hands were a little shaky it was very sweet. But the one moment that sticks with me, was during the ceremony after the vows had been said and the certificate signed - a soloist performed with backing vocals from the resident choir I was blown away and goosebumps crawled my skin, everyone froze and absorbed this wonderful moment that ultimately made me well up. It was powerful and evoking something I will never forget. This wedding had thought and a lot of love put into it - directly after Father Simon announced they were now husband and wife they proceeded up the aisle and instead of continuing outside to mingle with their party they went off to a side room and just shared a moment, they cuddled and they held that cuddle, that embrace that moment of solidarity of just the two of them.

But this wasn't just it - their love of books transpired through to the wedding reception decor a very tastefully done Harry Potter theme with little accents from the books at the reception venue which was held at the Crown and Cushion but I will leave the pictures to showcase their remarkable attention to detail. I adored this wedding. The couple were a dream to photograph. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Eldred enjoy your very own adventure.

Tom & MJ engagement shoot sneak peek, Rhodes Minnis, Canterbury Kent

Last Saturday I had the wonderful job of capturing this awesome couples engagement shoot. They travelled all the way from Hampshire to spend a few hours with me. It was a mother woodland adventure and another freezing day but so worth it. They brought along their gorgeous daughter Ava who is 7 months and I had my little assistant in the shape of  my 11 year old son. Ava adored Indie and was full of cute smiles for him. After our exploration in the woods we decided to drive to my mother in law to be which was only round the corner to finish up the shoot with some different shots, whilst little lady sat indoors with her Nanny by the fire. These two were awesome and their DIY wedding sounds amazing with a hint of harry potter as a theme - I get to go to Hampshire to capture it. I love their story of how they met at Reading festival!!

Their images consist of some classic and alternative styles and I really adore the mixture. I did a bit of experimenting using a technique I have learned via Sam Hurd - an american photographer called prisming using a prism in front of the lens I love the double exposure style effect its has without being a double exposure.

Rianna & James Bateman, Kent Wedding Sneak Peek

Rianna & James got married at a stunning church in Burmash, Kent. James Grandparents also got married at the same church so it was very special to them., followed by a gorgeous reception held at James parents house. The wedding was a very intimate affair with gorgeous poetry by James brother and some very touching, heartfelt moments during the service itself. Both couples were asked to write down their likes and dislikes by the vicar - a really lovely moment as it was a revelation to both couples what they truly felt and actually how well they knew each other. These two were clearly best friends and definitely soul mates. After the service I borrowed them for some bride and groom shots it gave them both some time to take it all in. What I didn't realise was the location I chose for their shots actually had some history to it for James - he grew up playing around in the spot I picked so it was lovely moment. We then headed off to the reception, with big white flags in the front garden blowing in the wind to show guests where to go. It was beach themed created by Rianna :0) fish bowls filled with sand and shells, and placemats all handmade by James it was a real homespun wedding that was true to them. They have this wonderful dog called Toby - Their baby he was simply beautiful and then wedding reception was based around his needs providing a quiet place for him so he could escape the hustle and bustle of wedding guests whenever he wanted. I have to say this was such a relaxed wedding and was full of love. I even got spoilt by James mum insisting I was well looked after - Made my day. Congratulations Rianna & James!

I had the lovely job of photographing Gemma's sister wedding as well Mr & Mrs Mustafa Its fair to say I adore the entire family! So felt like I already knew the family and the couple so well!! The day was gorgeous, great weather beautiful light and a lovely ceremony with lots of groom tears... although we have since discovered it was hay fever from all the flowers ;0)!! Tara & Lee Wedding Sneak Peek Herne Bay, Kent

What a day to get married 15th August 2015, it was Herne Bays Red Arrow air show! It was incredibly busy and the whole town was buzzing. Tara and Lee got married at ChristChurch Herne Bay and the church itself was quite simply striking. During the service the planes flew over creating lots of noise and filled the church with a really cool dramatic atmosphere. Tara and Lee are a gorgeous couple and their love and connection shone through. Reception was held at Boughton Golf Club and location I haven't photographed before and what can i say other then the grounds and the venue were stunning. I had free range and was able to go for a little drive in a golf buggy another first for me! The groom and his boys were in good spirits and were up for anything. Lee had this idea of having all his groomsmen stage a golf swing at the driving range - i am just happy they never had golf balls ha! Thank you guys for choosing me to capture your day! :0)
