wedding at, Mountains Country House Kent - Chelsea & Matt

The gorgeous Chelsea and Matt got married at Mountains Country house in Kent on the 7th February. The day was beautiful if not a little wet - good old British weather. That said spirit was not dampened!

This was my first time photographing a wedding at Mountains Country House and the venue itself inside and out was stunning.

Seeing Chelsea's Grandad waiting to see his granddaughter arrive was eyes welling up stuff and lovely moment that was incredibly infectious on all the family as the smiles got even bigger and showed no signs of letting up throughout the whole day. Enjoy the sneak peek and if you like what you see then please get in touch via the say hello page

.All the best guys :0)

Best of 2016, Kent Wedding Photographer

So 2016 was a big year for me! My busiest year to date although 2017 looks to be even bigger. But last year I feel I really found my style. I was nominated for two awards both for wedding photographer of the year 2017 which is huge and made me feel so proud that my work was getting noticed. I was regional finalist for South East and London via TWIA (The Wedding Industry Awards) where 30 other photographers were finalists so competition was tough - that said I am over the moon to be a finalist. I am still waiting for the results from www.bridebook.com (1st Feb 2017) so make sure you vote! I also got to go to New York a first for me! Fell in love with the city and cannot wait to go back.

The images I have selected, which was incredibly hard for me - I have shot 30 weddings in 2016 and have 40 for 2017 have sat and looked at thousands of moments, ones that gave me butterflies, goosebumps and actually brought a tear to my eye, I do believe I have showcased my creativity, attention to detail and the love and emotion captured from a the day. It's a huge blog post because I have fallen in love with each of the images. My couples have meant so much to me and adore seeing how smitten they are with each other.  Each of the weddings and engagement shoots were as unique as themselves and I wanted to showcase that 'emotion' in its rawest form, truth, connection and crazy stupid love bringing it back to the couple and the reasons for getting married. I am eternally grateful to all my couples and the trust they put into me to document their day in an honest, heartfelt way. Captured feelings with integrity.

Maureen & James, Etchington Golf Club, Folkestone, Kent

This gorgeous couple got married in October at the wonderful venue Etchington Golf Club. We had lots of fun and was able to go off on a little adventure in the golf buggy. Maureen even had a little go at driving which was a little scary as she liked to drive fast over every bump! I was holding on for dear life! Maureen and James love to star gaze so their theme was based around the stars and moon. So I bought some smoke grenades - blue and purple to match their theme and we totally rocked the bride and groom portraits! The sun even came out briefly, but come rain or shine I always make sure we get some lovely candid beautiful moments and the scenery was stunning complimenting the shots. Congratulations guys!

Charlotte & Scott, Cobham Hall, Kent

I had the honour of capturing Charlotte & Scotts wedding at the stunning Cobham Hall. I have known Charlotte since I was very little, we haven't seen each for a number of years so felt truly blessed to be asked to document her day! Seeing old faces from my childhood was amazing and it was a real giggle! Charlotte looked breathtaking and Scott was blown away as she walked down the aisle. Her dad had the most beautiful reaction to seeing his only daughter walked down the stairs to greet him.

I had been rather poorly, in fact I was taken to hospital straight after the wedding as I had a cold sore in my eye, I cannot tell you how much pain I was in but you just get on with it and I was determined to do just that! I had my lovely 16 year old cousin help second shoot and also not forgetting Charlotte's son Sam who had a go taking pictures! The day was epic and very grand, the light was sublime and the couple were an absolute treat! I have been desperate to share this day! I hope you enjoy the sneak peek from what was a elegant, full of love and laughter day!

Laura & Russell Get Married - Sneak Peek, Judds Folly, Faversham, Kent

I have known Laura & Russell a few years now, so it was an absolute honour to be asked to capture their special day. The wedding was held at Judd's Folly in Faversham which is a beautiful location and a perfect venue. The weather was perfect and the rain held off! Laura looked absolutely stunning in her dress, which complimented her bouquet which Laura made! Russell needs a shout out though because he decorated and dressed the venue with his brother - best man the night before and they did a fab job, Laura was blown away by what they had done and you could see it in her face as she was shown round by Russell after the ceremony!! Laura and Russell have been together for 8 years (correct me if I am wrong) but Russell is Laura's high school sweetheart :0) and the love they still have for each other is very apparent.

I loved how the wedding was so laid back and full of fun, Laura even took to the bouncy castle - as did I haha!! I particularly loved the throwing of the bouquet - it was hilarious, I'll let the photographs speak for themselves. WE even had a daughter and daddy's dance choreographed and it was amazing.

Congratulations guys! Lots of Love x

Tom & MJ engagement shoot sneak peek, Rhodes Minnis, Canterbury Kent

Last Saturday I had the wonderful job of capturing this awesome couples engagement shoot. They travelled all the way from Hampshire to spend a few hours with me. It was a mother woodland adventure and another freezing day but so worth it. They brought along their gorgeous daughter Ava who is 7 months and I had my little assistant in the shape of  my 11 year old son. Ava adored Indie and was full of cute smiles for him. After our exploration in the woods we decided to drive to my mother in law to be which was only round the corner to finish up the shoot with some different shots, whilst little lady sat indoors with her Nanny by the fire. These two were awesome and their DIY wedding sounds amazing with a hint of harry potter as a theme - I get to go to Hampshire to capture it. I love their story of how they met at Reading festival!!

Their images consist of some classic and alternative styles and I really adore the mixture. I did a bit of experimenting using a technique I have learned via Sam Hurd - an american photographer called prisming using a prism in front of the lens I love the double exposure style effect its has without being a double exposure.

New logo for my wedding & lifestyle photography brand, Kent

It was well overdue and I am so indecisive partly because I love everything colourful and pretty but a logo and an identity to my brand was needed. I was fortunate enough to photograph Gemma & Ashley's wedding and she knows how to do this sort of thing. Gemma is a phenomenal artist and I love how she just knew what sort of logo captures me and my style of work perfectly. It had to have colour and it had to be funky and she took this on board wholeheartedly. After a few designs back and forth as I kept changing my mind - nightmare client ha! I am a sucker for the colour gold and really wanted a gold tone to my logo, and a design that would fit work across both areas of my photography. I love it :0) Gemma you are a star and thank you for your patience and to be honest you nailed it every time. Her gorgeous artwork and wedding stationary can be found here The Artwork Of Gemma Mortlock  go and have a look its simply beautiful.
